Pre-Alert & Lead-In

Your Agents Email HBLs Overnight. StarShipper Processes Them.

BCC your StarShipper inbox when agent emails arrive. By morning, every House B/L is parsed, validated, and ready to import into CargoWise — no re-keying.

The first two hours of every morning

Your overseas agents email House Bills of Lading overnight. By the time you sit down at 8am, there are dozens waiting — PDFs attached to emails, sometimes scanned, sometimes not. Each one needs to be opened, read, and manually typed into CargoWise. Shipper, consignee, container numbers, ports, vessel, voyage. Fifteen minutes per HBL if you're quick.

One typo in a container number and you've got a customs hold. One wrong port code and the manifest fails validation. And there's no visibility into what's arrived until someone works through the stack.

The data is already in those documents. The problem is getting it out accurately and into CargoWise without burning your morning on data entry.

BCC the Email

Agent sends HBL, you BCC your StarShipper inbox. That's it.

Parsed Overnight

Every field extracted and validated while you sleep.

Import to CargoWise

One-click download as Universal XML or Job Header CSV.

Every field, extracted and validated

StarShipper reads House Bills of Lading — PDF, scanned, or digital — and pulls out every field you'd normally re-key by hand. Container numbers are validated against ISO 6346 checksums, port names are resolved to UN/LOCODE codes, and a shipment record is automatically created linking all related documents together.

You get a morning digest at 5am AEST showing what arrived overnight, which shipments are ready, and what still needs attention. Start your day reviewing data instead of entering it.

What we extract from every HBL

HBL & MBL Numbers— House and Master Bill of Lading references
Shipper & Consignee— Names, addresses, and contact details
Vessel & Voyage— Ship name, voyage number, ETD/ETA
Ports— Loading and discharge ports (UN/LOCODE validated)
Container Numbers— ISO 6346 checksum validated
Seal Numbers— Security seal identifiers
Goods Description— Cargo descriptions and marks
Weight & Packages— Gross weight, volume, package count

All fields are pre-mapped to CargoWise Universal XML and Job Header CSV formats. Download and import directly — no field mapping required.

Built for Australian freight forwarders

We built this for small-to-mid-size freight forwarding teams who use CargoWise and process inbound sea freight through Australian ports. The teams where one or two people handle lead-ins and pre-alerts, and every HBL they don't have to re-key is fifteen minutes they can spend on something that actually needs a human.

StarShipper tracks vessel schedules, checks manifest readiness against 1-Stop requirements, and understands Australian port workflows. It's not a generic document tool — it's built for how Australian freight actually works.
